Presenting Miss Kolkata 2016- Gunjana Gupta- She Loves Number Crunching!

Me: So how does it feel being crowned Miss Kolkata 2016?

She: Ever since I was a little girl, I knew i wanted to be someone that the world notices, in a positive way. I excelled in academics at school, and coming from a large joint family, i had total support from everyone.

To be honest, i always was a feminist in my own rights, and i feel blessed to have been bestowed with the honour of representing the women of Kolkata. This only fuels my fire to work harder and exhibit the qualities inherent to the Indian women

Me: What was your inspiration to take part in this event?

She: My inspiration to become Miss Kolkata is firmly grounded in my desire to involve change. I see it as the ideal platform for my voice to reach large masses of people. I am a CA finalist and i want to be independent.

I pay my own bills, i travel solo to meet clients for work, i work on my own and have learnt to love myself, no matter what, which is what makes me soar the skies and fly out with shimmering colors each time i attempt something new. In short, with my crown, i want to inspire other girls and women around me to have their individualism and personality, high ambitions and learn how to achieve them too.

Me: What has the Miss Kolkata title done for you or brought to you so far?

She: I am yet to go out there and its been only a month and a half since i won the title, and the organisers yet are to tell me what my roles and responsibilities towards society are. At the moment, on my own after winning the title of Miss Kolkata, i have manifested a dream that i longed for. And thanks to the many training sessions and the best groomers around, i made it to the top.

Me: What is Gunjana like at home and with her friends?

She: Whilst most of my time goes into studying and preparing for my CA, i am a girl just like the others. I love listening to music, i love to dance, and i dance to feel happy and to celebrate every moment in life. Sometimes with friends, sometimes with someone special and at times solo, and i really don’t need someone to make me happy, as long as i can do it myself. Dance for me is stress relief or stress buster!

Me: How supportive has your family been with your journey so far?

She: In one word “VERY”. My family stood by me in every step of the way. My mother’s and sister’s encouragement and belief in me spurred me on..My family helped me in several ways starting from exercise to keeping my diet proper, helping me out in studying on models and knowing more about them. My family members also helped me in getting votes and I believe it was all their support which helped me to be Miss Kolkata.

Me: Your favourite haute couture designers are?

She: My favourite designer’s are Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi Mukherjee

Me: The one model you adore today?

She: Lisa Haydon, I am a diehard fan of Lisa Haydon

Me: Your pearls of wisdom

She: My motivation in life are chasing challenges which makes life interesting……and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful……and yes, family is your best support!

And here i end my tete-a-tete with the gorgeous Miss Kolkata 2016. Gunjana Gupta, India needs more of the gorgeous and very brainy CAs like you, and here’s wishing you luck for the future ahead. In a couple of years i hope to see you as India’s Next Top Model or Miss India, so good luck once again from us all here!
