8 Unexplored Photography Places For Aspiring Photographers

We all love to travel and no one can deny it. In the times of hardship and uncertainty we seek help in unknown parameters. Same way our souls are too young to know anything about life. Travelling to different places gives us new perspective to fill up all those voids we might have in our minds. 

Photography is an art and a camera is a very powerful tool. Capturing all those finest and marvellous moment which are quite indescribable through our words. Like that last few nanoseconds left before the Sun hides itself behind those marvellous mountains completely and reflect it’s light through moon or when one culture shines in it’s full glory through some holy rituals or when the simple life of a sherpa, full of happiness and adventure challenges any luxurious life. With the aid of such tools and  global travel which has been easier than before the youth of today are able to maximize the potential of photography every which way possible whether it’s about a picturesque landscape or the deprivation of justice to a community. Photos which are been taken making the entire world aware of the facts which are been hiding in plain sight.

*1.       Bishnupur Architectural*

Bishnupur dates long back from the Gupta Period and was also the capital of Malla Dynasty duing 17th-18th century. The city is architectural panorama with more than 30 Hindu temples sculpted and designed in terracotta art. The architect itself get divided into three groups for it’s exquisite craftsmanship and structural design.  With its huge pillared corridor, terracotta sculptures decorates the wall of the brick temples, parapet roof which reflects Islam in Madana Mohana Temple and Eka Ratan Tower in Radha Shyama Temple which is not tiered but has a Islamic influence in it to Jora Mandir with complex methodology construction reflecting both Hindu and Islamic religion and resembling walls and chariot sculptures from Ramayana and Maharabharata. These fine ceramic structures and rich heritage takes one back to their roots and influences greatly the patrons of art and photography. Such rich heritages flourishes the industry with it’s artistic merits.

*2.       Purulia Chaau*

The word Chaau in Sanskirt means chayya i.e ‘shadow or mask’ and ‘Army Camp’ in. Chaau Dance shadows our acrobatic, martial art through a semi classical dance form celebrating religious Shaivism, Shkatsim and Vaishnavism and enacting stories of Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas and other Indian literatures. Purulia Chaau has a different ethos to it as the entire mask and costumes are made according to the character one may play and the theme of the content are derived from epical stories. The masks are all made of clay and by the potter and are primarily sourced from the district Purulia itself. Capturing such beautiful moments creates a magical alchemy for both the viewer and the capturer.

*3.       Alipurduar Lal Jhamela Bosti*

Quite unexplored and underrated tourist spot are the regions of Dooars, so is this next spot. In West Bengal Lal Jhamela Bosti of Alipurduar located near the Looksan village in the district of Jalpaiguri is considered to be the virtual treasure trove of this region. The beautiful scenario and mesmerizing environment leaves one spellbound. From the view of Bhutan hills and hanging bridges situated at the border to Chengmari Tea Garden and the sight of wild life can encourage any aspiring photographer to start their career in wild.

*4.     Nepal  Pashupatinath Temple*

Another beautiful heritage renovated by The Malla dynasty will be the Pashupatinath Temple. This pilgrimage was built in 5thcentury though rumors claim it be existed from the beginning of millennium when a Shiv linga was discovered. The main pagoda style temple with glided roof, four sides covering in silver and wood carvings of finest quality shows the richness of Hindu culture. Places like this are quite intimidating but it makes a wonderful subject for the aspiring photographers. The solemnity and true meaning of these pilgrimages attracts both tourists and patrons all around the world.

*5.       Kathmandu Durbar Square*

Several monuments collapsed during the major earthquake on 25 April 2015 including many buildings in Katmandu Durbar Square. Remaining architects showcase the work and craftsmanship of Newar artist vividly but is visible. At the entrance there is a big statue of Lord Hanuman renaming this particular Durbar as Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square. Many kings were crowned in this region. The art of Photography started two hundred years ago but photojournalism started in this region nearly eight years ago therefore making every region of this particular place unexplored treasure for aspiring photographers.

*6.Totopara*

The name Totopara came from a Nepali tribe Toto. Majority of people who reside in these region belongs to this tribe.  This region is located near the Jaldapara National Park and southern are of Indo Bhutan Borderline. Both this region and these tribe is unexplored The people belonging to this tribe is said to be Mongloid People i.e The Mongols. Their house built of Clay and bamboo can show the primitive ways of living. Their marriage rituals, techniques and customs are quite unique than any other tribe. Photographers can not only record their unique lifestyle but also can compare there complex lives with such simplicity.

*7.    Nagaland  – Phek*

A south mountainous region of Nagalad known as Phek is quite unknown to the world.The word Phek comes from the word Phekrekedze, meaning watch tower.  Enveloped in wooded hill slopes, the district is rich in the presence of flora and fauna. Salt making, wood, bamboo carving and weaving are other means of livelihood of the people of the Phek district. Famous places of this region are Khezhakeno Historic Village, Pfutsero and Shilloi Lake which retains the cultural heritage of the land that is reflected in the cultural extravaganzas of Nagaland. Such historical place becomes quite an interesting topic for all the aspiring photographers to reach out to their root for once.

*8.  Nagaland – Japfu Peak*

This peak is set amidst in the north east Indian state of Nagaland. The trek can be troubling and tiring but the verdant and picturesque landscape is  worth it. The hill top view of entire the city Kohima, the mystical sun rise view, rain drenched paths and the fresh air of this region makes it quite mesmerizing and appealing. The Northern Montane Wet Temperate Forests predominate the landscape of Japfu with evergreen covers of Michelia, Magnolia, Quercus, Prunus, Alnus, Schima and Betula. Mountain regions are interesting topic for all the aspiring photographers for its intrinsic beauty and thrilling view.
