"You Create We Nurture"

Senorita by Camela Cabello and Shawn Mendes Review

The song was released as a single through Island Records on June 21,2019. The song “Senorita” is effortlessly steamy and wonderfully light weight. It is one of the first times when both Cabello and Mendes sound grown – up without toning down their youthfulness or individuality. It is an airy, mid – tempo Latin pop track. The song is written by Mendes, Cabello, Charli XCX, Ali Tamposil and Jack Patterson of clean Bandit. It’s producers are Andrew Watt, Banny Blanco and Casumere Cat. This is the first time the two have joined forces since 2015’s ” I know what you did last summer.”

The video starts with the pop singer taking a meal at a diner where Cabello is his waitress. Then, the duo dance the night away in Miami. Later,They spend some time together in a hotel room. On the track, they sing about wanting each other. At the end, they fail to stay together. From an interview with V Magazine, we come to know that they have actually been working on this song for almost a year. It’s music video won Best Pop Video at the iHeart Radio Much Music video Awards.

Personal opinion

When the “I love it when you call me Senorita” part comes, it sounds like Shawn is not saying “me”. So, he is technically just saying he loves it when she calls for him i.e., “I love it when you call, Senorita.”

At 2.01 minute time, Shawn uses lots of breath in the lower range. This style, Justin Bieber too uses for his studio albums. There is one line which made the fans confused. In the second verse, a gem line the song offers “you say we’re just friends. But friends don’t know the way you taste.” We will take a moment to appreciate how aptly the sensuous lyric has captured the complicated mess that modern relationships are.
