Bengal Content Fest supported by SVF

Bengal Content Festival pioneered by LOK Arts Creative celebrates the creators of tomorrow, supported by SVF.

The education system is at a cusp of a major transition with various new policies being stream rolled, institutions opening their portals after two years and the dawning of a hybrid model of education. In the new scenario, changes are inevitable and leaders are leaving no stone unturned to adapt. LOK Arts Collective in association with SVF have put forward their focus on the youth-in-arts community in Kolkata, presenting Bengal Content Fest 1.0, which was a three-day festival starting from 10th of September till 12th of September with masterclasses being taken by the stalwarts of the industry followed by content creation competitions for the festival participants from schools, colleges and independent youth arts groups. The event was held at the SVF DI Room at Acropolis Mall and saw a huge turnout for all three days.

The three day-long festival witnessed participation from aspiring learners and were addressed by industry stalwarts like Amit Masurkar (Director of Sherni,Newton) on his Filmmaking and storytelling process, Anirban Bhattacharya on Screenwriting, Anindya Chatterjee on Songwriting, Dhrubo Banerjee on Direction and Content Pitching and Riddhi Sen on Screen Acting whereas, Bickram Ghosh and Ranjan Moitra will be presenting a session on Music Direction, Background Score, Editing and Sound Design respectively. To enhance more variations in styling & looks, fashion designer Abhisek Roy will be seeing ace sharing details of costume designing aspects.
The festival was organized to empower and nurture the next generation of creative talents, to provide free of cost professional guidance and industry exposure through masterclasses by eminent members of the film fraternity and to create a community and platform of young artists who can get an opportunity to showcase their skills to a larger audience.

Shrikant Mohta, Director & Co-Founder – SVF and Hoichoi, “There is a huge future in the field of entertainment. Entertainment along such spreading knowledge, is quite a phenomenal thought. Bengal Content Fest is a great initiative and our team is glad to be on its advisory board.”

Soumyajit, part of the Global Changemakers Network after being inducted in 2011, said ” I am a by-product of the Kolkata school-college fest circuit and the once thriving independent youth-in-arts community here. After being part of more than 25 varied feature films in Bengali, Hindi and a couple of international projects primarily as an actor or line producer/casting director, I decided to take a break from everything else from November 2017 and pay a homage to my roots. LOK’s debut feature #Homecoming was born out of that and now while the film is enjoying a solid festival run after releasing successfully as a direct-to-digital on Sonyliv , I came back to Kolkata with the Bengal Content Fest. The collaborative and unwavering support from visionaries at SVF has made this dream come true. We already have more than 5000 registered participants. ”

Bengal Content Fest is a first-of-its-kind youth talent hunt competition in West Bengal across schools, colleges and independent entries to identify and nurture young talents who deem to be fit for the film, entertainment and content creation industry.
